The
credit union was started in 1954 by a small group of
teachers from Lufkin ISD. Mr. Pop Ward and Miss Zelma Cook were instrumental
in the beginning. The Credit Union is a state chartered credit union
and answers to the Dept. of Credit Unions, State of Texas. Savings
are insured by the National Credit Union Association up to $250,000.00.
The Board of Directors is a group of credit union members who volunteer
their time each month to oversee the credit union operations and make
the best decisions possible for the benefit of the membership.
